This Cookie Policy explains how TradeKind may use cookies and similar technologies.
TradeKind is a Sussex-only trades directory and trust network for homeowners and local tradespeople.
This policy is reviewed as the platform evolves. It will be updated if advertising, tracking pixels, heatmaps, affiliate tracking, retargeting or other non-essential cookies are added.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files placed on your device by a website.
Similar technologies may include:

These technologies can help a website work, remember choices, keep users logged in, protect against abuse or understand how people use a site.
Essential cookies and storage
TradeKind may use essential cookies or browser storage where needed for:
- login sessions
- account security
- keeping users signed in
- form operation
- preventing spam or abuse
- remembering basic platform state
- maintaining safe access to dashboards
- operating the website correctly
These are used because the platform cannot work properly without them.
Authentication and dashboard access
If you create an account or log in as a trade user or admin, TradeKind may use cookies or similar technologies to manage your session.
This helps the platform know that you are logged in and allowed to access your dashboard or admin area.
Request forms
TradeKind may use essential technologies to support Request This Trade forms, validation, security and spam prevention.
Homeowner request details are handled under the Privacy Policy.
Analytics
TradeKind uses first-party analytics only. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no TikTok Pixel, no third-party analytics or advertising pixels, and no retargeting on the site.
To help understand how the platform is used, TradeKind may:
- store a per-session identifier in the browser's `sessionStorage` (cleared when the tab closes)
- record analytics events in TradeKind's own database, in the `analytics_events` table
Recorded event data may include:
- event name and audience (for example, homeowner, trade, admin)
- the current path on the site and the referrer domain
- UTM campaign parameters, when present
- relevant internal identifiers such as business, job, lead or request IDs
TradeKind's analytics events do not store email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, message text, passwords, authentication tokens or raw IP addresses in event metadata.
Only TradeKind admins can read analytics events.
Marketing and advertising cookies
TradeKind does not currently use marketing or advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, affiliate tracking, or third-party ad networks.
If any of these are added later, this policy will be updated and, where required, a consent mechanism will be added.
Third-party services
TradeKind may use third-party services to operate the website.
These may include:
- hosting providers
- Supabase or backend services
- Resend or email delivery services
- security or performance services
- domain and DNS providers
Some third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies as part of providing their service.
Cookie consent
Essential cookies usually do not require the same opt-in consent as non-essential analytics or marketing cookies, but users should still be told they are used.
If TradeKind introduces non-essential cookies, we will ask for consent before using them where required and update this policy.
