TradeKind Recruitment · For Sussex trade businesses

Find people to join your Sussex trade business

Need an experienced trade worker, subcontractor, apprentice, trainee, labourer or short-term help? Approved TradeKind trade businesses can use TradeKind Recruitment to post vacancies, review applicants and receive broad Work Profile match suggestions from people looking for trade work in Sussex.

TradeKind Recruitment requires an approved TradeKind business profile. Matching is broad relevance only — it is not a hiring recommendation or candidate verification service.

Recruit for the way trade businesses actually work

Six opportunity types, one Sussex recruitment route

Choose the opportunity type that reflects the real arrangement. Clear employment status and expectations are better for applicants and reduce mismatched conversations.

Employed role

Advertise a permanent or ongoing employed position in your Sussex trade business.

Subcontract work

Find self-employed or subcontract labour for suitable work where that arrangement is genuinely appropriate.

Apprenticeship

Advertise an apprenticeship opportunity while handling the formal apprenticeship requirements through the appropriate official process.

Trainee / career changer

Open a route for someone who is building practical experience and is not being presented as already fully skilled.

Labouring

Find people for genuine labouring work and be clear about the tasks, site expectations and experience needed.

Temporary / short term

Post a defined short-term requirement rather than presenting temporary work as permanent employment.

How it works now

Post, review and invite — without pretending there is a giant CV database

General Work Profile search is not currently live. The flow is deliberately narrower: businesses publish real opportunities and people apply, and TradeKind can also surface broadly relevant Work Profiles in your trades and area without you posting a vacancy first.

  1. 01

    Post the genuine opportunity

Set out the role type, trade, area, experience needs and useful details so a work seeker can decide whether it is worth applying.

  2. 02

    Review applicants and suggestions

Applications appear in your recruitment area. TradeKind may also show broad Work Profile suggestions relevant to your vacancy or trade and area.

  3. 03

    Invite or connect appropriately

Invite a suitable matched person to apply, or use the permitted connection flow when available. Private contact details are not simply exposed as a public directory.

Write a vacancy people can judge properly

Good recruitment copy filters in the right people

The aim is not to make every role sound attractive to everyone. It is to give suitable people enough information to self-select before either side spends time on a conversation.

  • Use the correct opportunity type: employed, subcontract, apprenticeship, trainee, labouring or temporary / short term.
  • Say which trade or trades the person will actually work in and the Sussex area they need to cover.
  • Be realistic about experience. Do not advertise a trainee route and then expect a fully productive experienced tradesperson.
  • Explain travel, driving, tools, working hours or site expectations when they materially affect suitability.
  • Give useful pay, rate or commercial information wherever the recruitment form and your circumstances allow you to do so accurately.
  • For apprenticeships, handle the formal training, funding, pay and apprenticeship requirements through the official employer process as well as advertising the opportunity.

A match is a lead to assess, not a hiring endorsement

TradeKind can make broad suggestions based on relevant profile and opportunity information. That does not mean TradeKind has verified the person's workmanship, identity for employment, tickets, right to work or suitability for your specific role.

Carry out the checks and recruitment process appropriate to the arrangement before employing, engaging or placing anyone on site.

Qualifications are self-declared

A person may add qualifications or tickets to a Work Profile, but those claims are self-declared. Ask to see original or verifiable evidence where it matters and check that it is current and relevant to the work.

For subcontract arrangements, also make your own decision about status, insurance, competence, supervision and the commercial terms that apply.

Hiring an apprentice?

Use the official apprenticeship employer process as well

TradeKind can help you advertise the opportunity locally, but it does not replace the formal apprenticeship steps. GOV.UK explains training providers, funding, employer responsibilities and how to advertise an apprenticeship in England.
