Key takeaway

Real team profiles turn the people behind your business into useful public proof of experience while every enquiry still comes back to the business.

TradeKind helps Sussex trades build a useful local profile

List your real services and service areas, add useful business information and give local homeowners a clear way to request your business.

A strong trade business is more than a logo. For many homeowners, seeing who actually turns up, what they know and how they fit into the business can make the company feel more real.

TradeKind's Your Team feature lets you create useful public profiles for genuine people who work in or as part of your business. Each person can have their own business-branded page showing their role, photograph, experience, specialties and a proper biography.

The page stays connected to your business. It does not create a separate TradeKind business, separate reviews or a separate lead account. Enquiries still go back to the business.

Why showing your team is worthwhile

A useful team profile can do several jobs at once.

It shows the real people behind the business

A homeowner may be deciding whether to invite somebody into their home for several days of work. A real photograph, clear role and useful biography can give them more context than a company name alone.

For example, instead of simply showing a business name, you can also show that Sarah handles wallpapering and feature walls, Dan has ten years of spray-finishing experience, or an apprentice is developing particular skills under the business.

That is useful information about the real business, not filler written for a search engine.

It can create another useful branded page

When a team profile has enough genuine information and the parent business also passes TradeKind's public search-quality gate, the member page can be eligible for search indexing.

Its address follows the business, for example:

tradekind.co.uk/trade/example-business/team/sarah-jones

That gives the business another genuinely different page based on a real person and real experience rather than creating another near-duplicate town page.

TradeKind quality-gates these pages. A name on its own is not enough.

It gives search and AI systems clearer business context

A good team page creates understandable relationships such as:

Sarah Jones → decorator → part of Example Decorating → works within a Sussex trade business

That gives search systems more factual information about the people and experience behind the business.

Google's current Search guidance still puts useful, crawlable, people-first information at the centre of normal and AI-assisted search. TradeKind also uses appropriate profile-page structured data on qualifying team pages to describe the person and their relationship to the business.

The opportunity comes from publishing real, useful information, not from manufacturing staff pages.

It gives you ready-made social content

A team profile can also become useful material for channels you already use.

Examples:

  • "Meet Sarah, who handles much of our wallpapering and feature-wall work";
  • "Dan has now been with us for five years";
  • "Meet our apprentice and the skills they are building";
  • a post about a team member's specialty;
  • a project post that names the people who worked on it;
  • a website "Meet the team" section linking to fuller TradeKind profiles.

One well-written team profile can therefore support your TradeKind presence, your website and several genuine social posts.

Where to find Your Team

Sign in to TradeKind and go to:

Dashboard → Your Network → Your Team

You can also open it directly at:

Open Your Network in the TradeKind dashboard

The Your Network area contains two different things:

  • Your Team — people who genuinely work in or as part of your business;
  • Your Trade Network — separate independent businesses you genuinely know, work with or recommend.

This guide is about Your Team.

Tell TradeKind whether you work alone or have a team

At the top of Your Network, TradeKind asks how the business works.

Choose:

  • I work on my own; or
  • I have people in my team.

If you are a genuine sole trader with no team, choose I work on my own. TradeKind will not keep prompting you to invent staff.

You can still use Your Trade Network to show independent trades you genuinely work alongside.

If you do have a team, choose I have people in my team and start with one real person.

Add a real team member

For each person you add, TradeKind can store:

  • their name;
  • their role;
  • a real photograph;
  • specialties or work they are known for;
  • years of relevant experience where useful;
  • a biography;
  • publication permission.

Only add somebody who genuinely works in or as part of the business.

You must also have their permission before publishing their name, role, photograph, biography and specialties.

Do this now: Open Your Network, choose the correct team setup and add one genuine team member if this applies to your business.

Make the profile worth finding

A search-quality team page needs more than a name.

TradeKind currently checks for:

  • a clear role;
  • a real photo;
  • a useful biography;
  • at least one genuine specialty;
  • confirmed publication permission;
  • a parent business that itself meets TradeKind's search-quality gate.

The biography should be specific enough to tell a homeowner something useful.

Weak:

John works for our company and is very good at his job.

Better:

John has worked with our decorating team for six years and mainly handles interior preparation, wallpaper hanging and detailed finishing. He regularly works on occupied homes around Worthing and Shoreham and is especially experienced in preparing older walls before decoration.

The better version gives the reader real information: experience, work type and context.

Useful things to include

Write about facts such as:

  • how long they have worked in the trade;
  • how long they have worked with the business;
  • the kind of work they commonly handle;
  • genuine specialties;
  • qualifications or registrations only where accurate;
  • what they enjoy or are particularly experienced in;
  • the kinds of projects they normally work on.

Do not stuff the biography with town names or copy the same paragraph onto every team member.

Do this now: Complete one team member with a real role, photo, useful biography and specialties, then use View their page to check it as a homeowner would.

Your business stays in control of the enquiry

A team member page is subordinate to the main business.

The public page makes clear that the person is part of the business and gives the visitor routes to:

  • request the business;
  • view the full business profile;
  • see the wider Network where available.

TradeKind does not create separate public contact details for the employee. That keeps the commercial relationship and enquiries with the business.

This is useful if you want to show individual experience without fragmenting your brand.

How the search opportunity works

TradeKind does not automatically index every team entry.

A qualifying team member can have a dedicated public page, but search indexability also depends on the parent business being strong enough to pass TradeKind's existing profile gate.

That is deliberate.

A complete team profile has something genuinely different to say. A bare employee name does not.

Google's current ProfilePage documentation specifically recognises employee pages on company websites as a valid profile-page use case when the page genuinely focuses on that person.

That makes real team pages a sensible way to deepen the useful information around a business without manufacturing thin SEO pages.

Use team profiles as content

Once a useful page exists, do not leave it hidden.

You can naturally use it when it helps your audience.

For example:

Social post

Meet Sarah from our decorating team. Sarah specialises in wallpaper hanging and detailed interior finishing and has worked on projects with us across Worthing and Shoreham. You can read more about her experience on our TradeKind team profile.

Website

A "Meet the team" section can introduce each person briefly and link to the fuller TradeKind page where useful.

Customer conversations

If a customer asks who will be carrying out a specialist part of the work, a genuine team profile can give them useful background before the job.

Project posts

When a team member has worked on a real project, you can mention their role in the accompanying social or website content.

This gives you more things to talk about without inventing marketing material.

Do this now: Choose one completed team profile and use it to create one genuine "meet the team", experience or project post on a channel you already use.

Keep team pages current

Review a profile if:

  • somebody leaves the business;
  • their role changes;
  • they develop a new specialty;
  • you have a better current photograph;
  • their experience information changes;
  • they withdraw publication permission.

If permission is withdrawn, TradeKind can remove them from public Team surfaces.

If you are a sole trader

There is nothing wrong with having no team.

Mark the Team actions Not for my business in your Growth Plan and continue.

Do not create a fictional employee, family member or subcontractor just to gain another page.

Your next useful step is Build Your Trade Network on TradeKind, which can apply even when you work alone.
