Key takeaway
AI is useful for shaping real information; it should never be the source of facts about your business.
TradeKind helps Sussex trades build a useful local profile
List your real services and service areas, add useful business information and give local homeowners a clear way to request your business.
AI is useful when you give it the truth and ask it to help with the wording.
The safest formula is:
AI draft + genuine trade knowledge = useful.
Not:
AI invents the facts.

What AI can help with
AI can help turn your real information into:
- business descriptions;
- service descriptions;
- FAQs;
- captions;
- project stories;
- case studies;
- website page drafts;
- review responses;
- clearer spelling and grammar;
- shorter wording;
- content ideas.
It is especially useful if you can explain a job out loud but hate writing it down.
Never let AI invent business facts
Do not publish AI-made claims about:
- qualifications;
- memberships;
- insurance;
- years of experience;
- service areas;
- projects;
- reviews;
- staff;
- customers;
- jobs;
- services;
- awards or achievements.
If the model adds something you did not provide, remove it.
Common mistake: A sentence sounding plausible does not make it true.
Improve a genuine business description
Start with bullet points.
For example:
- painter and decorator;
- based in Lancing;
- genuinely cover Worthing, Shoreham-by-Sea and Brighton & Hove;
- interior decorating;
- exterior decorating;
- wallpapering;
- domestic homes and small commercial premises.
Then use this prompt:
I run a genuine painting and decorating business based in Lancing. I cover Worthing, Shoreham-by-Sea and Brighton & Hove. My real services are interior decorating, exterior decorating and wallpapering. Write a clear 120-word business description in plain British English. Do not invent qualifications, years of experience, guarantees, projects, reviews, locations or services. Avoid phrases like “the best” and “unbeatable”.
Check every sentence before publishing.
Turn real job notes into a project story
Use a prompt like:
I am a painter and decorator based in Lancing. I genuinely cover Worthing, Shoreham-by-Sea and Brighton & Hove. Turn these real job notes into a short project description. Do not invent materials, results, services or customer comments. Keep it plain British English. Notes: [paste notes].
If you did not tell the model which paint system was used, it should not invent one.
Voice notes are useful
After a job, record a 30-second note:
- what the customer needed;
- what you found;
- what work you actually completed;
- any interesting preparation;
- the area, if safe and useful;
- the result you can genuinely describe.
Transcribe it and ask AI to organise it.
This is faster than trying to remember the job three weeks later.
Write useful FAQs
Prompt:
Here are ten genuine questions customers have asked my fencing business. Group similar questions and draft concise answers using only the facts I provide. If information is missing, write [CHECK] instead of guessing. Do not add guarantees, prices or service areas.
That last instruction matters.
Social captions
Prompt:
Turn these real job notes into three short Facebook or Instagram caption options for a Sussex trade business. Keep the tone practical, not salesy. Use the location once if it is relevant. Do not invent a customer quote, result, material or problem.
Then choose the one that sounds like you.
Review responses
Prompt:
Draft a calm reply to this genuine customer review. Thank them, refer only to details they actually mentioned, do not reveal private information and do not argue. Review: [paste review].
For criticism, read the output carefully before posting. AI does not know the full customer history.
Website pages
AI can help structure a service page, but give it real material first:
- services;
- process;
- common problems;
- photographs;
- genuine service area;
- questions;
- what the customer should expect.
Do not ask it to “write 50 SEO town pages”.
Google's spam policies apply to scaled content created primarily to manipulate search, including low-value content made with automation or generative AI.
Proofread and simplify
One of the safest AI jobs is editing text you already wrote.
Prompt:
Proofread this in plain British English. Keep every fact unchanged. Remove repetition and marketing jargon. Do not add claims.
That dramatically reduces the chance of fabrication.
Protect private information
Do not paste private customer data into an AI tool unless you understand that product's privacy terms and genuinely need to.
Remove:
- names;
- full addresses;
- phone numbers;
- email addresses;
- access codes;
- private job details.
A generic description like “a 1930s semi in Worthing” is often enough.
Check the final draft yourself
Before publishing, ask:
- Is every factual claim mine?
- Are all locations real?
- Did the model add an accreditation?
- Did it invent a customer quote?
- Did it promise a result?
- Does it sound like a normal trade business?
Do this now: Take one real job note and run the project-story prompt above. Treat the answer as a first draft, not evidence.
Next, use those genuine drafts in your TradeKind profile, social content or website.
